This is a thin small (.5 to .75 inches) triangular point with a flattened cross section. The blade is primarily straight to slightly excurvate. The point primarily forms an isosceles triangle (half as wide as the height), or less frequently form an equilateral triangle (as wide as the height). The base is primarily straight to slightly concaved. The flaking pattern is random and is commonly crudely made.

This type is associated with Buck Garden ceramics. Projectile points associated with Buck Garden people are generally side to corner notch or triangular and are commonly crudely made (McMichael, 1963).
McMichael (1965) states that the Buck Garden Culture developed from the earlier Armstrong culture.

BUCK GARDEN – was named for examples recovered from the Buck Garden Creek archaeology site in Nicholas County, West Virginia. They date to the Buck Garden Cultural period (500-1200 years before present). This point type is another variety of the triangular projectiles that occurred over most of the eastern half of the nation during the Woodland through Mississippian period.
